It's a true story, and as such is a powerful indictment of the corrupt LAPD of that era. Maybe I liked it since I viewed through that historical context. And in many ways, Christine Collins is an extraordinary figure who survived such horrors long enough to get some amount of justice against those corrupt and incompetent officials. She survived and endured. And hopefully as a result the LAPD really did change their practices after that scandal. I don’t know about that.
